Diagnosed with Oral Cancer
Wrestlers, Fans, Coaches, Supporters...,This is a message from Leister

"I have a huge favor to ask you. A good friend of
mine that I wrestled on the same youth, h.s., and college team with since we
were 4 years old just got diagnosed with oral cancer. He is 27 years old and
never chewed tobacco or smoked. He found out last week, got a PT scan today,
and it is already stage 3. They are going to remove 1/2 to 1/3 of his tongue
next Saturday and then he will begin Chemo. The treatment will last at least
4 months. He just found out last week and is already out of pocket $10k and
that is just in insurance deductibles for 2010-2011 and co pays that he is
looking at 35 copays of $135ea for his Chemo and checkups."
I am hoping that you can all use the power of Facebook, Twitter, the UG,
anything to just spread the word. I started an account for him at Bank of
the West P.O. box 920 Lyons, CO 80540 and donations can be made out to
"The Chad Haakenson Fund". I am also asking that people add him as a friend
on Facebook and just give him some words of encouragement. I gave him some
wrestling quotes "once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy" and
"tough times don't last, tough people do". I have attached a link to the UG
that you can spread and also what I wrote up that you can copy and paste to
your websites/twitter/whatever."
We as a wrestling community never gives in and or gives up. I have created
a link that will allow you to donate to helping Chad and his family through this
difficult time. The money will go into Chad's paypal account and then be
transferred directly into his "The Chad Haakenson Fund" that Leister Bowling III
has established at the Bank of the West in Lyons.
